The Miami football program sent offensive line coach/assistant head coach Alex Mirabal and running backs coach Tim Harris Jr. to Bradenton per Robbie Weinstein of 247 Sports in his article “A breakdown of the top programs at IMG Academy’s scrimmage — and the prospects they were watching.”

In the first full recruiting cycle under Mario Cristobal, the Miami football program set a good foundation for a pipeline to IMG Academy. Miami signed edge rusher Jayden Wayne, offensive linemen Francis Mauigoa and Antonio Tripp and tight end Riley Williams from IMG in the 2023 class.

Five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV, three-star defensive lineman Jayden Jackson, four-star interior OL Jordan Seaton and five-star prospect Jerrick Gibson who is the top running back in the 2024 Class are the players Harris Jr. and Mirabal watched at IMG Academy according to Weinstein.

Gibson is trending to Texas, Jackson and Seaton are projected to commit to Ohio State and Robinson is committed to Georgia. Miami currently has eight commits for 2024. Four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson is the only blue-chip prospect in the 2024 Miami class. Weinstein summarized Harris and Mirabal’s visit.

"MIAMI HURRICANESCoaches on hand: Alex Mirabal, offensive line coach/assistant head coach; Tim Harris Jr., running backs coach. This is a spicy one, as Miami is trying to flip Robinson from Georgia as coach Mario Cristobal seeks to turn the program around. Theoretically, the Hurricanes should be a consistent force at IMG.They don’t have a commit from the program in 2024 so far. The ‘Canes watched Jackson, Seaton, Gibson and, of course, Robinson. They are right there in the mix for all but Seaton, and Seaton indicated to Gaby Urrutia of InsideTheU that Miami still has a chance to make a move.”"

Five-star defensive tackle David Stone is the prime IMG Academy prospect Miami is recruiting. Stone is ranked eighth overall, the second-best DL and third in Florida in the 2024 Class. Adding an elite interior DL in the 2024 class is critical for Miami. The Hurricanes are expected to lose DT Leonard Taylor to the 2024 NFL Draft.

The 2024 Miami class is ranked 24th nationally after receiving a commitment from three-star linebacker Vincent Shavers. Expect Miami to continue moving up the rankings after official visits take place in June. Several commitments should follow those official visits. Miami should have a top 10-15 2024 class.

The majority of the remaining 2024 Miami commits should be blue-chip prospects. Sixteen of the 24 2024 Miami signees were four or five-star prospects. That includes Mauigoa and OT Samson Okunlola. Mirabal has continued to prove he is an elite OL recruiter. Expect more elite OL for Miami in 2024.
