The Miami Hurricanes baseball team plays its first game in the 2023 ACC Tournament on Thursday versus North Carolina State at 7 PM ET at Durham Athletic Park. After playing NC State on Thursday Miami will matchup with Duke on Friday at 3 PM ET. The Blue Devils, Hurricanes and Wolfpack are in Pool D with the winner advancing to the ACC Tournament semifinals on Saturday at 1 PM. If the three teams each finish with one win the Miami Hurricanes would advance as the highest seed.
Marcus Benjamin of Canes County wrote about the improvements that FIU and Oregon made in their second seasons under Mario Cristobal. Cristobal led FIU to a three win improvement in year two and Oregon to a four win jump in his second season. Benjamin concluded Miami fans should expect a similiar jump in 2023.
The Miami basketball team moved up two spots to 12th in the most recent CBS Sports Top 25 and one. Forward Norchad Omier and guard Nijel Pack announced their returns to Miami over the weekend. The Hurricanes starting lineup should be set with Matthew Cleveland, Bensley Joseph, Omier, Pack and Wooga Poplar.
Pro Football Focus named Miami Hurricanes defensive tackle Leonard Taylor one of their “10 college football breakout candidates for the 2023 season.” PFF highlighted his 87.8 overall grade and 85.3 pass-rush grade along with the 19.5 pass-rush win percentage Taylor had in 2022. PFF expects Taylor to increase production.
USA Today published how much money Power Five conference schools made in 2022. The ACC made $617 billion in 2022. That was third among Power Fie schools. ACC schools made an average of $37.9 million to $41.3 million. That was fourth among Power Five schools when expenses are included.
