Patience paid off with transfers under Mario Cristobal and required with 2024 recruits
Mario Cristobal and his staff waited patiently during the spring transfer portal on several players and that will be required from fans with the 2024 Miami recruiting class. Five of the 13 transfers added to the 2023 Miami roster have committed in the last month. Miami began building momentum in its 2023 class last summer.
The 2024 Miami recruiting class is currently 25th nationally. Four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson is the only blue-chip prospect committed to Miami for 2024. Miami will host 28 2024 prospects in June. If that’s an indication of the 2023 recruiting cycle, the Hurricanes should receive multiple commitments in the next five weeks.
Eighteen of the 28 prospects taking their official visits to Miami in June are blue-chip recruits. IMG Academy Cornerback Ellis Robinson and Chicago St. Ignatius defensive tackle Justin Scott are the only 2024 five-star prospects scheduled to take visits to Miami in June. The official visits will commence on June 2.
The official visits will have a different look this summer after Mario Cristobal rebuilt half the Miami staff following defections and firings. New coordinators Shannon Dawson on offense and Lance Guidry on defense provide Miami with two new systems for the Hurricanes entering the 2023 season.

Cristobal has continued to be one of the elite recruiters nationally. Miami signed the 16th-ranked class in 2022 largely because of the work Cristobal did despite getting hired less than three weeks before Early National Signing Day. In his first full cycle, Mario Cristobal and the Miami football staff signed the seventh-best 2023 class.
Offensive tackle Juan Minaya and safety Isaiah Thomas are the only 2024 Miami commits who are taking their official visits to Miami in June. Expect Minaya and Thomas to sell the other official visitors during their weekends in Coral Gables. Quarterback Judd Anderson has become a leader in the 2024 Miami class.

By the end of June or the beginning of July expect the 2024 Miami recruiting class to rise significantly in the rankings. Miami should challenge to have another top 10 class. Several Miami June official visitors are strong considering Miami. That includes Scott who is trending to the Hurricanes.
