The Miami football program continues to lead for five-star Chicago St. Ignatius defensive lineman Justin Scott whose top five was released on Wednesday. Scott is trending to Miami via 247 Sports and On3. Scott is the 12th-ranked prospect, third DL and the top player in Illinois in 2024 per the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Steve Wiltfong who is the 247 Sports Director of Football Recruiting logged a crystal ball for Scott to Miami in April. Miami has a Miami 69.8 percent chance for a commitment from Scott per On3. Notre Dame has a 20.2 percent chance for a Scott commitment and Georgia is at 6.3 percent. Everyone else is below one percent.

Scott has official visits scheduled for Georgia the weekend of June 2, Michigan June 9, Miami June 16 and Ohio State June 23. All five of the programs in the top five for Scott have previously received unofficial visits in addition to five other power five schools. June 16 will be a big weekend of official visits for Miami.

Allen Trieu of 247 Sports reported that Scott has talked about taking an official visit to Notre Dame but that nothing is currently scheduled. It is not known why Scott scheduled official visits to Georgia, Miami, Michigan and Ohio State but not Notre Dame. There could be a variety of reasons Scott is waiting to schedule Notre Dame.

Miami currently has eight commits for 2024. Four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson is the only blue-chip player committed to Miami in the 2024 class. Scott would be a foundational player in the 2024 Miami class. Mario Cristobal has made the line of scrimmage a priority in recruiting, but Miami doesn’t have a 2024 DL commit.

Next. Patience needed with Mario Cristobal recruiting. dark

Three-star offensive tackle Juan Minaya is the only lineman Miami has in its 2024 class. Expect a flurry of commitments for Miami throughout June and into early July. Miami set the foundation for its 2023 class last summer. The Miami football program currently has the 25th-ranked 2024 class per the 247 Sports composite rankings.
