Miami baseball TV schedule: How to watch the Hurricanes on TV this week

The Miami baseball team will be last to make its 2023 ACC Tournament debut at 7 PM on Thursday night versus North Carolina State. The North Carolina State win over Duke on Tuesday night creates a winner take all for Pool D with Miami due to tiebreakers. Miami wins a tiebreaker if all three Pool D teams finish 1-1.

The highest-seeded team in any of the ACC Tournament round-robin pools advances to the semifinals with a three-way tie. The Miami Baseball team will play Duke on Friday at 3 PM. Miami enters the ACC Tournament with a 37-18 overall record and finished 18-12 in the ACC during the regular season.

North Carolina State opened Pool D with an 8-7 win over Duke in 11 innings on Tuesday night. The Wolfpack led 7-1 after their at bat in the top of the second. Duke held NC State the rest of the way and rallied to force extra innings. Miami is the fourth seed in the ACC Tournament, Duke is fifth and North Carolina State is ninth.

Miami won two out of three from NC State in March. The Wolfpack outscored the Hurricanes 23-21 due to a 14-4 win in the series finale. Miami outscored Duje 23-14 winning two out of three in Coral Gables last weekend. Neither team has named a starting pitcher per the Miami game notes as of Wednesday night.

Miami ace Karson Ligon could return for the ACC Tournament. Do not expect Ligon to start. Gage Ziehl who has been the frequent Friday night starter for the Miami baseball team with Ligon out is the most likely starter versus North Carolina State. Ziehl is 7-4 with a 4.65 ERA. Miami is fifth in the ACC with a 5.19 ERA.

Miami finished the regular season leading the ACC and finishing 11th nationally with 106 home runs. Six Hurricanes had between 11 and 16 home runs. No one in Miami finished in the top eight in the ACC in HRs. Second baseman Blake Cyr led Miami with 16 HRs. Third baseman Yohandy Morales was named first-team All-ACC.
