The Miami football program is pushing hard for five-star Ohio State wide receiver commit Mylan Graham. Ohio State received a commitment from Graham on April 4. There were three crystal balls logged in favor of Ohio State for Graham prior to his April commitment. On3 projects Ohio State with a 96.8 chance for Graham to commit.
Graham is the 17th prospect, fourth WR and top player in Indiana in the 2024 class per the 247 Sports composite rankings. The Miami football program is one of eight schools that Graham has taken unofficial visits to. Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State are the only programs that have received multiple Graham visits.
Graham had a breakout season for New Haven, Indiana high school with 48 receptions for 1,149 yards and 13 touchdowns. No official visits are scheduled for Graham per the 247 Sports and On3 databases. Despite being a hard commit to Ohio State, Miami WRs coach Kevin Beard will keep pushing for the Hurricanes.
Beard is familiar with the Midwest and particularly Ohio after spending the previous five seasons on the Toledo coaching staff. Miami currently has a commitment from four-star St. Thomas Aquinas WR Chance Robinson. Mark Russell of Buckeyes Wire quoted Graham discussing his visit with the Miami football program.
"“When I went down there, they made a good impression on me…They were showing me around campus and everything. It was a better campus than I expected when I went. As far as recruiting me, they’re still trying to get at me but they understand I’m committed to Ohio State.Really just keep recruiting me hard and show me the culture’s changing. Show me that it’s actually changing. That’ll be it, really.”"
Ohio State also has a commitment from five-star Chaminade-Madonna WR Jeremiah Smith. Miami is trending for Chaminade-Madonna WR Joshisa Trader. The Hurricanes need to sign and develop game-changing players at the skill positions on offense. Miami was solely lacking in explosive plays in 2022.
June will be a big month for Miami with the Hurricanes hosting 37 2024 prospects for official visits. Four of the prospects are WRs that includes Robinson. Trader is not on the list. Beard is expected to improve WR recruiting for Miami. After signing the seventh-ranked 2023 class, 2024 will be another critical recruiting cycle for Miami.
