Miami football leads top 5 for 3-star edge rusher Wyatt Gilmore
The Miami football program leads for three-star edge rusher Wyatt Gilmore who tweeted his top five on Sunday. In addition to Miami, Gilmore included Kansas State, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Oregon as the top five programs he is considering. On3 projects Miami with a 35.6 percent chance for a commitment from Gilmore.
Minnesota is second in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 23.6 percent chance for a commitment from Gilmore. The projections from On3 include several programs that did not make GIlmore’s top five. Wisconsin is listed as third with a 7.2 percent chance for a Gilmore commitment.
Iowa, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Oregon are tied at 6.0 percent. Those numbers could change with Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin not included in Gilmore’s top five. The On3 composite industry rankings have Gilmore as the 633rd prospect, 41st edge rusher and fourth recruit in Minnesota the 2024 class.
The 247 Sports composite rankings have Gilmore as the 511th prospect, 36th edge rusher and second best recruit in Minnesota for 2024. Gilmore is three-stars in the 247 Composite rankings, but four-stars in their own rankings. Gilmore has an official visit with the Miami football program this weekend per On3.

Miami is the only program that Gilmore currently has an official visit scheduled to. Gilmore has taken unofficial visit with all of the programs in his top five. Gilmore is attracted to Miami for the chance to play for defensive line coach Jason Taylor. Gilmore likes the strength and conditioning progtram at Kansas State.
The defensive minds of the coaching staff at Oregon is what attracted the Ducks for Gilmore. Miami has nine 2024 commits. Three-star prospect Daylen Russell who committed to Miami on Saturday is the first DL in the Hurricanes’ 2024 Class. Mario Cristobal has stated the line of scrimmage will always be a priority.

Miami is trending for several other DL in the 2024 Class. Five-star Chicago St. Ignatius DL Justin Scott is projected to commit to Miami. Four of the nine 2024 Miami commits are on defense. Expect Miami to have a strong June with 37 official visits scheduled. The Hurricanes should have a run of commits in June through early July.
