Miami football big official visit weekend begins Friday

The Miami football program will host five 2024 prospects this weekend as the big month of official visits in June begins. Four-star 2023 prospects Kamorion Franklin, Drelon Miller, Jerrae Hawkins and James Nesta and three-star recruit Kewan Lacy are taking their official visits to Miami this weekend per the 247 Sports database.

Miami is trending the strongest for Nesta and Lacy per On3. The 247 Sports database has Franklin, Hawkins and Lacy trending the most to Miami among the official visitors this weekend. Miami leads the recruitment for Nesta per On3 with a 34.4 percent chance for a commitment for the 6-5 and 205-pound linebacker.

Nesta is the 377th prospect, 31st LB, and 12th in North Carolina out of Cornelius, William Amos Hough High School. Miami is trending for Lacy with a 29.4 percent chance for a commitment per On3. The 247 Sports database ranks Lacy as the 546th prospect, 44th running back and 95th prospect in Texas for 2024.

Franklin is the highest-rated prospect visiting the Miami football program this weekend. The 247 Sports database has Franklin as the 39th-ranked prospect, seventh RB and top player in Mississippi. Franklin is a high four-star prospect. Tennessee is the favorite for Franklin with a 75.2 percent chance for a commitment.

Miami is a long shot for Miller. On3 projects USC as the favorite at 49.3 percent, LSU at 42.4 percent with Miami third at 1.5 percent. Miller is the 60th prospect, 11th WR and 12th player in Texas in the 2024 Class per 247 Sports. Miller also has an official visit scheduled to USC the weekend of June 16.

Hawkins is the 228th-ranked prospect, 33rd wide receiver and 36th recruit in Florida out of IMG Academy. Penn State is the leader for a Hawkins commit at 41.1 percent, Florida is second at 20.8 percent and Miami is third with a 17.8 percent chance for a Hawkins commit. Hawkins is also taking official visits to Florida and PSU in June.

June was a huge month for the 2023 class. Several of the 2023 Miami signees took their official visits in June. Miami will host 37 different prospects for official visits in June. The weekend of June 9 will be the biggest for Miami with 14 prospects. Miami should see a run of commits beginning in June into early July.
