Miami baseball versus Maine NCAA Tournament Game Info
The Miami baseball team will begin 2023 NCAA Tournament play on Friday night versus Maine. Miami is hosting a regional for the second straight season. The Hurricanes finished the regular season 40-19 after losing to Clemson in the ACC Tournament Championship Game on Sunday.
Maine enters the NCAA Tournament with a 32-19 record and finished 19-5 in the American East. The Black Bears have a long history with seven appearances in the College World Series. Texas who is arguably the most storied program in college baseball history will play Louisiana in the other first-round game in Coral Gables.
Miami enters the NCAA Tournament with 13 wins in its last 16 games. In 2022 Miami lost eight of its last 11 games entering the NCAA Tournament. Miami earned big wins over NCAA Tournament teams North Carolina State, Duke and the top overall seed Wake Forest in the ACC Tournament last week.
The regional could be decided on the ability of the Miami baseball team to continue hitting home runs and getting to closer Andrew Walters. Miami is seventh nationally with 112 HRs. Walter is tied for seventh nationally with 11 saves and has a 1.08 earned average. Miami has a 67-14 record all-time versus Maine.

This is the 29th time the Miami baseball program is hosting a regional and 49th NCAA Tournament appearance. Miami has an 89-18 record at home all-time in the NCAA Tournament. The Hurricanes are 28-5 at home this season. Louisiana, Maine and Texas have all been mediocre on the road.
Miami enters the NCAA Tournament as the ninth national seed. The winner of the Coral Gables Regional will play the Stanford Regional winner which also includes Texas A&M, Cal State Fullerton and San Jose State. The Super Regionals are next weekend at the higher-seeded team and begins on Friday.
