Miami Hurricanes News: Bats eliminated from NCAA, recruiting update

The Miami Hurricanes baseball team defeated Louisiana 8-5 to stave off elimination but lost 10-6 to Texas later on Sunday in a season-ending game in the NCAA Tournament regionals. Miami finished the 2023 season 42-21. Yohandy Morales ended his Miami career with four home runs in the regional and three on Sunday.

Cornerback Santana Wilson and interior offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Lewis who are both four-star 2024 prospects named the Miami Hurricanes in their top 10. Wilson named Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and Washington in his top eight schools with Miami.

The On3 Industry Rankings have Wilson as the 252nd prospect, 26th CB and third-ranked recruit in Arizona in the 2024 class out of Scottsdale Desert Mountain. Arizona State is the favorite for a commitment from Wilson with a 35.2 percent chance per On3. Texas is second at 23.3 percent and Washington is third at 20.0 percent.

Pierre-Lewis named a top 10 of Alabama, Central Florida, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC with Miami. Florida leads for a Pierre-Lewis with a 33.8 percent chance for a commitment. UCF is second at 18.6 percent, Oklahoma third at 9.7 percent and Florida State third at 5.5 percent.

The On3 Industry Rankings have Pierre-Louis as the 249th prospect, 17th IOL and 37th in Florida out of Tampa Catholic. Miami is one of six programs that Pierre-Lewis has taken multiple visits to. Oklahoma has the only official visit scheduled from Pierre-Lewis that will come next weekend.

The Miami Hurricanes basketball team rose two spots in the post-NBA Draft deadline Top 25 and 1 rankings to ninth. Miami will have an elite starting five of FSU transfer Matthew Cleveland Bensley Joseph who elevates from sixth man to starting guard and returning starters Norchad Omier, Nijel Pack and Wooga Poplar.
