Miami Hurricanes News: 2024 new commit, baseball grades
The Miami Hurricanes football program received its 10th commitment to the 2024 class from linebacker Cameron Pruitt on Saturday night. Miami moved into the top 25 with the commitment from Pruitt. Marcus Benjamin of Canes County wrote an end-of-the-season review for the Miami baseball program.
The commitment of Pruitt to the Miami Hurricanes football program moved the 2024 class to 24th in the 247 Sports composite team rankings and 25th in the On3 consensus. Pruitt is the second-highest-rated commit in the 2024 Miami class. More commitments could be coming from the 14 official visitors this weekend.
Benjamin wrote about “Miami Baseball: End-of-season grades – Coaching, Defense and Hitting.” Miami finished the 2023 season with a 42-21 record. Benjamin gave the hitting an A+, the defense an A and the coaching a B. Benjamin did not grade the inconsistent pitching staff.
The Twitter account Genetics56 posted its own study on Friday with evaluations of Clemson, Florida State and Miami and what each school would bring to the Big 10. Miami finished first in Academics, Fanbase size ranking and Market Size. Clemson was in football over the last 10 seasons.
Athlon Sports wrote up its preview for the 2023 Miami Hurricanes football season earlier this week. Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, new coordinators Shannon Dawson and Lance Guidry, the returnees and transfer additions were the focus of the Miami preview. Athlon ranks Miami 30th nationally.

Brown has been a key player for the Nuggets off the bench all season. Brown has shined in his first appearance in the NBA spotlight.
Former Miami Hurricanes QB D’Eriq King has joined his offensive coordinator in Coral Gables Rhett Lashlee’s SMU staff as an offensive analyst. King played for the D.C. Defenders in the XFL this season. As the ideal dual-threat QB King should have a bright future teaching SMU players.
