Steve Wiltfong the 247 Sports Director of Football Recruiting likes where the Miami football program is recruiting five-star defensive linemen Aydin Breland, Dylan Stewart, Colin Simmons, and David Stone and four-star DL L.J. McCray. This week, Wiltfong made the comments on his 247 Sports show The Wiltfong Wrap Around.

Breland, McCray, Simmons, Stewart and Stone all visited the Miami football program last weekend. Wiltfong likes Miami for Stewart and said he thinks Miami leads for Breland and McCray. If Miami signs McCray, Simmons and Stewart that would be more impressive than Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunlola in the 2023 class.

It has been widely stated that the goal of the 2023 Miami class was to build an elite offensive line. Miami accomplished that by signing five OL, including five-star tackles Mauigoa and Okunlola. Miami could have to replace its entire starting DL following the 2023 season. The four projected starting DL are eligible for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jahfari Harvey and Akheem Mesidor are projected to be the starting edge rushers for the Miami football team in 2023 with Jared Harrison-Hunte and Leonard Taylor at defensive tackle. Harrison-Hunte, Harvey, Mesidor and Taylor all have eligibility remaining after the 2023 season if they do not enter the NFL Draft.

"“I like Miami for Dylan Stewart. Colin Simmons that’s another prospect that Miami is on the rise for, the explosive edge rusher out of the Lone Star State. My crystal ball is on LSU I think Miami’s given them a run for its money. This weekend but Miami moved the needle with Colin Simmons. His family his mom pointed to Jason Taylor, Mario Cristobal and company planning out every year for Colin from the moment he arrives to the moment he goes on to the NFL draft and that was really impressive. David Stone…you know, who knows what he’s going to end up doing but we know that he loves Miami.Been there four or five times already this calendar year and so they’re way in that one I think they lead right now for Ayden Breland out of a Santa Ana Mater Dei….We’ll see if they can hold on to that lead and then LJ McCray…he’s one of the most coveted in-state defensive linemen for Miami and they’re certainly in the mix."

The Miami football team will continue to host blue-chip defensive linemen this weekend. Five-star DL Justin Scott who Wiltfong logged a crystal ball for to Miami, four-star DL Jayden Jackson and four-star edge rusher Elias Rudolph are taking their official visits in Coral Gables this weekend. Jackson is from IMG Academy.

Next. Miami projects 5-star WR Jeremiah Smith as program changer. dark

Miami signed four players from IMG Academy in the 2023 class. Mauigoa and edge rusher Jayden Wayne were two of the four Miami 2023 IMG Academy signees. Miami also hosted four-star DL T.J. Lindsey from IMG Academy last weekend. Cristobal and his staff are on the verge of signing an elite DL class.
