Miami Football Conference USA Non-Opponents

With the AAC raiding Conference USA for Florida Atlantic, Charlotte, North Texas, Rice and Texas-San Antonio and UAB, several members are new entering the 2024 season. Liberty, Jacksonville State, New Mexico State and Sam Houston are entering CUSA for the 2023 season and Kennesaw State will join in 2024.

Miami has not played CUSA members Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Liberty, New Mexico State, Sam Houston State, Texas El-Paso, or Western Kentucky. Jacksonville State did not join the NCAA until 1973. The Gamecocks played in Division II until 1994 and will play its first FBS season in 2023.

Liberty has been an FBS program since 2018 and was FCS from 1988 through 2017. Kennesaw State will begin FBS play when they move up to CUSA in 2024. New Mexico State has been playing football since 1893, yet has never played Miami. Sam Houston State is moving up to FBS for the 2023 season,

Western Kentucky has been an FBS team since 2007. Central Michigan defeated Western Kentucky in the 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl in the Hilltoppers’ first FBS postseason game under then interim head coach and current Miami defensive coordinator Lance Guidry. WKU joined CUSA in 2014.
