Miami football Mountain West Conference Non-Opponents

Boise State, Fresno State, New Mexico and Wyoming are the four Mountain West programs that Miami has not played. The distance to the Mountain States or West Coast makes it difficult for Miami to schedule Mountain West opponents. Miami played on the blue turf in Boise in the 2006 MPC Computers Bowl.

Miami football Sun Belt Conference Non-Opponents

James Madison, Marshall and Southern Mississippi joined the Sun Belt in 2022. Miami has not played versus Sun Belt members, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, James Madison, Louisiana, Louisiana-Monroe, Old Dominion, South Alabama and Texas State.

The majority of Sun Belt programs have moved up to FBS in the last 25-30 years. Southern Mississippi is the biggest exception. The Golden Eagles have been a major college football program since 1962. Miami defeated Southern Mississippi 30-7 in their only meeting at Hard Rock Stadium last season.

Miami does not have any future games scheduled versus Sun Belt opponents. The Hurricanes have openings in 2025 and beyond in their schedule. With the proximity of several Sun Belt programs, Miami could schedule a team from the conference in the future. Coastal Carolina and Old Dominion are rising programs.
