Miami football has never played these FBS teams
Miami Football Big XII Non-Opponents
Iowa State is the only Big XII program the Miami football team has never played. That includes incoming Big XII programs BYU, Central Florida, Cincinnati and Houston. Miami does not have a Big XII team on its future schedule. Iowa State has improved significantly under head coach Matt Campbell.
Miami Football Pac-12 Non-Opponents
Oregon State, Stanford and Utah are the only Pac-12 programs Miami has never played. No future Miami opponents are from the Pac-12. Miami has not played a Pac-12 team since losing 20-14 to Washington State in the 2015 Sun Bowl. Miami was scheduled to play Washington State in the 2021 Sun Bowl but had to withdraw.
Miami Football SEC Non-Opponents
Including 2024 SEC entrants Oklahoma and Texas, Miami has played every team in the Southeastern Conference. Miami will host Texas A&M on September 9 this season. Miami is scheduled to play an SEC opponent in non-conference in seven of the next eight seasons. Only 2028 is without an SEC opponent.
With Power Five non-conference opponents scheduled for most of the next 10 seasons, Miami is not likely to play a Big XII opponent unless it is in a bowl. Miami last played a Big XII opponent when it lost to Oklahoma State in the 2020 Cheese-It Bowl in Orlando. The College Football Playoff expands to 12 teams in 2024.
