Miami Hurricanes News: Analysis for 4-star RB Kevin Riley commitment

The commitment of 2024 four-star running back Kevin Riley to the Miami Hurricanes football program drew analysis from the local and national sites that cover recruiting. Riley is the highest-rated 2024 Miami commit passing four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson. Miami currently has the 23rd-ranked 2024 class.

Riley is the 81st-ranked prospect, sixth RB and seventh player in Alabama in the 2024 Class per the 247 Sports composite rankings. The commitment from Riley came after his official visit this past weekend. Miami has two RBs committed to its 2024 class. Three-star RB Chris Wheatley-Humphrey committed in April.

Miami has 12 commits to its 2024 class. Riley is the third 2024 blue-chip commit. Miami previously gained commitments from tight end Elija Lofton and Robinson. Head coach Mario Cristobal and RBs coach Tim Harris Jr. impressively went to Alabama to gain a commitment from Riley.

Riley attends Northport Tuscaloosa County. Riley will become part of a loaded Miami RB corps. The Hurricanes signed four-star RBs Mark Fletcher and Chris Johnson in the 2023 Class. Miami will also have blue-chip RBs Don Chaney Jr., Tre’Vonte Citizen and Henry Parrish on the 2023 roster.

Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U commented that Miami was the second Power Five program to offer Riley after Arkansas in October 2022. Riley told Urrutia that the Miami coaching staff likes his versatility and his ability as a fast and physical runner. Urrutia’s colleague David Lake compared Riley to former Hurricane Mark Walton.

John Garcia Jr. the Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst wrote that the Miami Hurricanes received a commitment from Riley after his sole official visit was in Coral Gables. Garcia also closely examined strengths and areas for improvement for Riley. Riley is a foundational player in the 2024 Miami class.

Riley was quoted by Hayes Fawcett of On3 that he choose the Miami Hurricanes football program because of the relationships he has with them and their plan for him in the future. Riley likes the positive energy the Miami coaching staff has and the schemes utilized by offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson.
