Texas Tech defeated Mississippi 42-25 in the 2022 Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium in Houston. The Miami football team leads the all-time series versus Texas Tech 4-1. The Hurricanes won the last meeting 45-10 in Lubbock in 1990. Miami has won the last two games versus Texas Tech by a combined score of 106-21.

McGuire was a high school assistant and head coach in Texas prior to being hired at Baylor. Texas Tech hosts Mario Cristobal’s old team Oregon on September 9.

"Pop-Tarts BowlProjected matchup: Texas Tech vs. Miami“The Hurricanes are going to bounce back as a contender in the ACC during Mario Cristobal’s second season — or so the projection goes. Next. Miami has never played these FBS teams. dark

LSU has the second-best transfer class with 14 commits. Florida State is sixth and with 10 transfers. Miami plays at Florida State on November 11. A Miami win over Texas A&M on September 9 could provide the Hurricanes with a chance to start 5-0. Temple is the only road game for Miami in its first five 2023 contests.
