The Miami Hurricanes football team is fourth among ACC teams in returning production including transfers per Grant Hughes of 247 Sports. Jesse Simonton of On3 wrote about the “2023 Pressure Check Rankings: Dino Babers, Mario Cristobal are among ACC coaches under the most pressure this fall,”

Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy tweeted Wednesday morning that the Miami football team “will undoubtedly be one of most improved—and potentially best—OL groups in CFB this season.” Brandon Clay of 247 Sports ranked the Miami women’s basketball team 24th in the transfer portal class rankings.

The Miami Hurricanes football team has 12 returning starters, five on offense and seven on defense. When examining the amount of production ACC teams have returning in 2023, Hughes includes incoming transfers. Miami has 15 transfers new to the 2023 roster with varying expectations of contributions.

Simonton wrote that the pressure check for Cristobal is high entering the 2023 season. Cristobal overhauling the staff and the sixth-ranked 2023 recruiting class per the On3 ranked were reasons for optimism per Simonton. However, Simonton expects an uncomfortable situation for Cristobal if they don’t stack wins this fall.

Nagy credited the new additions on the offensive line through the transfer portal and in the 2023 class. Guards Javion Cohen and Jalen Rivers, center Matt Lee and offensive tackle Zion Nelson were specifically mentioned by Nagy. Freshmen OTs Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunlola are also likely to play key roles.

Clay ranked the Miami women’s basketball team with the 24th transfer class. The key addition for Miami per Clay is Shayeann-Day Wilson who is the 35th-best 2023 transfer. Miami also added Lemyah Hylton, Jaida Patrick and Ally Stedman to their 2023-24 roster. Miami is coming off its first Elite Eight in program history.
