The leader for three-star prospect Zuri Madison depends on the particular recruiting site. The Miami football program is primarily competing with Arkansas and West Virginia ahead of a projected commitment this week. Most recruiting outlets list West Virginia as the leader.

Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U reported that Madison is down to Arkansas or Miami. There are no 247 Sports (the parent site of Inside the U) crystal balls logged for Madison. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects West Virginia as the leader for a commitment from Madison at 32.8 percent.

Miami is second at 28.7 percent and Arkansas is third at 18.6 percent. The 247 Sports composite rankings list Madison as the 593rd prospect, the 37th interior offensive lineman and the third-best recruit in Kentucky out of Lexington Frederick Douglass High School. Madison took his official visit to Miami this past weekend.

Madison also took official visits to Arkansas and West Virginia earlier this month. Six other programs, including five in Power Five, received unofficial visits from Madison. Offensive line coach Alex Mirabal is leading the Miami recruitment for Madison. Three-star offensive tackle Juan Minaya is the only 2023 Miami OL commitment.

Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman is a former offensive lineman like Miami head coach Mario Cristobal. Pittman was an OL coach from 1994 at Northern Illinois which was his first FBS coaching position through 2019 at Georgia before being hired as head coach at Arkansas ahead of the 2020 season.

Madison was one of 20 prospects that took official visits with the Miami football program this weekend. This is the last weekend for players to take official visits until fall. Expect Miami to start to receive more commitments over the next few weeks. The 2024 Miami class is currently ranked 28th in the 247 Sports composite.

Cristobal and Mirabal have made the OL a priority since arriving in Coral Gables in December 2021. At 6’5 and 305 pounds, Madison already has excellent size to play on the OL. Allen Trieu of 247 Sports praised Madison’s work ethic, strength and ability to play multiple positions on the OL.
