Miami football lean Jacory Barney commitment 7 PM Saturday

Four-star wide receiver Jacory Barney who is reportedly leaning toward the Miami football program will make his commitment announcement on Saturday at 7 PM. There are five 247 Sports crystal balls that project Barney to commit to Miami. On3 lists Miami with a 97.3 percent chance for a Barney commitment.

The projections for Barney have flipped in the last week. All five crystal balls that project Barney to commit to Miami were logged on Monday. Barney is currently the 420th-ranked prospect, 36th WR and 63rd recruit in Florida out of Miami Palmetto. Miami currently has the 30th 2024 class in the 247 Sports Composite rankings.

A commitment from Barney would vault Miami to 24th in the 2024 class rankings. Miami would pass Wisconsin, Alabama, Iowa, Florida State, Rutgers and Arkansas. Miami currently has the seventh-best class in the ACC. Clemson is first in the ACC followed by North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, Duke and Florida State.

Four-star Miami football prospect Chance Robinson is the only WR committed to the Hurricanes in the 2024 class. Miami is also pursuing five-star WT Joshisa Trader. The crystal balls trending to Miami came after Barney took his official visit to Coral Gables. Last weekend was the biggest for official visits to Miami with 20.

Barney is the only scheduled commitment coming up that is trending to Miami per 247 Sports. Several players that have not announced specific commitment dates are expected to eventually announce commitments in July. Miami should continue to climb the recruiting class rankings over the next few weeks.

Miami hosted 45 players on official visits in June. Nine of those players are currently committed to Miami. Thirteen of the Miami official visitors in June are committed to other programs. Barney, four-star defensive lineman Artavius Jones, five-star DL Justin Scott and five-star safety Zaquan Patterson are also trending to Miami.
