Oregon is the only Power Five opponent Miami has played only once without a loss. Miami has not played anyone else more than five times without a loss.
Miami has defeated Bethune-Cookman five times without a loss. The Hurricanes defeated the Wildcats 70-13 in the 2022 season opener. Miami will host Bethune-Cookman on September 14 this season. All of the teams on the future Miami football schedules after 2022 have defeated the Hurricanes at least once.
Several of the opponents Miami never lost to occurred before 1979. The 1979 season was the first under Howard Schnellenberger and is considered the beginning of the modern era of the Miami football program. Schnelleberger turned Miami into a national power in his fifth season with the 1983 National Championship.
