Greg Biggins of 247 Sports interviewed top Miami football prospect “Four-star OL Isendre Ahfua breaks down June official visits and who’s up next.” Ahfua took official visits to Miami, Texas A&M and Utah in June. No 247 Sports crystal balls have been logged for Ahfua. On3 lists Oregon as the leader in an Ahfua commitment.
Oregon has an 84.3 percent chance for an Ahfua commitment per On3. The Miami football program is an extremely distant second with a 4.4 percent chance for a commitment from Ahfua. Ahfua is the 110th-ranked prospect, sixth interior offensive lineman and top recruit in Washington state by the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Ahfua broke down each of his official visits for Biggins. Oregon, USC and Washington are potential official visits for Ahfua this fall. Ahfua told Biggins he thinks his commitment will be sometime in September. The potential official visits to Oregon, USC and/or Washington are expected to be early in the season.
Miami currently has commitments from three-star offensive tackles Juan Minaya and Deryc Plazz in the 2024 class. Either or both Minaya could move inside in college. At 6’4 and 310 pounds, Ahfua already has a college ready body to play on the interior of the OL. Ahfua broke down his Miami recruitment for Biggins.
"Miami: “I have great relationships with the coaches at Miami. I know Mario Cristobal and coach (Alex) Mirabal really well because they were recruiting me hard when they were at Oregon. I’m really comfortable with them and believe they can turn the program around.I like that coach Cristobal has a background developing offensive linemen and I believe I could go there and get developed and they can help me become a better football player.”"
Mirabal is leading the recruitment for Ihfua. Cristobal helped develop Detroit Lions OT Penei Sewell who was the seventh overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Ahfua would have a chance to compete for playing time on an OL that will be anchored in the future by five-star 2023 OTs Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunlola.
Cristobal and Mirabal are building what has the potential to become an elite OL. Miami will have three to four new starters in 2023 with transfers Matt Lee from Central Florida at center and Javion Cohen from Alabama at guard. Ahfua has the potential to be a critical part of Miami’s future if he signs with the Hurricanes.
