Miami football WR commit Joshisa Trader 2024 class best hands
Five-star Miami football commit, wide receiver Joshisa Trader has been named as having the best hands in the 2024 class in the Southeast by John Garcia of Rivals. Trader is the 13th-ranked player, second athlete and third prospect in Florida in the 2024 class in the Rivals rankings. Trader is the highest-ranked 2024 Miami commit.
In the last two seasons, Trader combined for 73 receptions for 1,335 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. Trader will provide Miami with the game-breaking player the offense has often lacked in recent seasons. The Miami football program also has a commitment from four-star WR Chance Robinson for 2024.
Rivals switched listing Trader from a WR to an athlete earlier this year. There has been some speculation he could play defensive back in college. Miami could potential use Trader as a DB situationally. Trader was also praised by Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports for his “Ability to make high-level catches look relatively easy.”
Garcia provides an extensive summary of what makes Trader great. Trader is the highest-rated WR committed to Miami since 2004. Not signing highly-rated WRs from South Florida has hindered Miami offensively. Robinson and Trader will hopefully signal a turnaround for Miami with local WRs.
"BEST HANDS: Joshisa Trader“The new Miami Hurricane verbal commitment is a two-way standout with plenty of folks curious about his prospects in the secondary, mainly because of his ball-tracking ability and, ultimately, his hands. Trader is 6-foot-1 but works with a wider catch radius, routinely making the acrobatic catch look like standard operating procedure in the process. There is an ease to Trader’s game when the football is in the air, and few track it like him from release to contact. Away from his body or in traffic, he also brings a competitiveness to the table that often leads to letting his opponent know he just made a play against them.”"
David Lake of Inside the U also stated that “JoJo Trader is the type of WR1 Miami has needed to land in this 2024 cycle.” Trader will have an opportunity to work with offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and WRs coach Kevin Beard. Beard will be able to impart his wisdom as a national championship WR.
Trader has skills far beyond having the best hands in the Southeast in the 2024 class. The ability Trader has to track the balls has been routinely mentioned by multiple recruiting analysts including Garcia. Trader picking Miami could impact future prospects. Elite QBs would like want to throw to Robinson and Trader.
