Miami football career passing leader No. 8: Ryan Clement

  • 6,004 passing yards
  • 36 passing touchdowns
  • 29 interceptions

Truthfully, Ryan Clement’s career with the Canes coincided with a program down period following a four-championship-in-nine-season stretch and ahead of their last championship in 2001. With that said, in three seasons as the starter, Clement went over 2,000 yards twice and led the Hurricanes to nine wins in 1996.

Clement was a member of Vince McMahon’s original XFL launch in 2001, completing 78 passes in 138 attempts for 805 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions for the Las Vegas Outlaws, coming after he played for the Scottish Claymores of the failed NFL Europe league. Eventually, he’d even end up on the Colorado Ice in the Western Conference of the United Indoor Football League.

While the NFL never came calling, luckily Miami did, and Clement made enough of an impact at the U to end up on all-time lists like this one.
