Miami Hurricanes head coach Jim Larranga and players Bensley Joseph and Christian Watson met with the media ahead of the basketball team’s trip to France. More analysis has continued with the Miami football team following the appearances of Mario Cristobal, Kamren Kinchens, Matt Lee and Tyler Van Dyke at ACC Kickoff.

Christoper Stock of Inside the U stated that The Miami Hurricanes have two scholarship openings they still would like to fill ahead of the 2023-24 season.” Miami added Florida State transfer Matthew Cleveland and 2023 signees Paul Djobet, Kyshawn George and Michael Nwoko, for the 2023-24 season.

The Clemson Insider wrote about the desire that Van Dyke always had to play a game in Tiger Stadium. Van Dyke was a redshirt freshman when Miami played at Clemson in 2020 and he was injured when the Hurricanes played there last season. Miami hosts Clemson on October 21 with the game time to be announced.

David H. Hale of ESPN wrote about Mario Cristobal: Culture clash at core of Miami’s struggles in ’22.” Hale quoted Cristobal discussing the culture he wants to instill at Miami. The significant changes to the Miami roster and staff ahead of the 2023 season were also discussed by Hale in his article about the Hurricanes.

Getting the right blend of players and staff was extensively discussed by Cristobal at ACC Kickoff on Tuesday. Chip Patterson of CBS Sports wrote, “Mario Cristobal touts roster construction, staff overhaul as Miami looks for reboot in 2023 season.” Patterson praised Cristobal for flexible roster building.

Brian Smith of All Hurricanes wrote that safety Kamren Kinchens must lead the Miami defense in 2023. Smith wrote an extensive history of Kinchens that included his recruitment and the production the junior has had for Miami. Pro Football Focus rates Kinchens as the best-returning safety in college football.

Center Matt Lee, guard Javion Cohen and linebacker Francisco Mauigoa are the three Miami Hurricanes ranked in the top 10 transfers in the ACC. Cohen, Lee and Mauigoa are all projected impact players and starters for Miami in 2023.
