The Miami Hurricanes football team held media day on Monday covered by several outlets prior to training camp beginning on Tuesday. The Miami basketball team is leaving for a three-game, multi-week trip to France on Tuesday. Miami received a commitment from center Nino Francavilla on Monday.

With exactly a month until the Miami Hurricanes football team begins its season, training camp commenced on Tuesday. On the eve of training camp, Miami conducted media day. Several outlets were in Coral Gables to cover multiple topics and speak to coaches and players about training camp and the upcoming season.

Alex Donno of All Hurricanes wrote that Offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and wide receivers coach Kevin Beard set the scene for Miami’s 2023 offense.” Donno asked “What role will wide receivers Tyler Harrell and Shemar Kirk and running back Ajay Allen play this season?

Marcus Benjamin of Canes County wrote about the rehab process for Miami running back Tre’Vonte Citizen and asked the redshirt freshmen “How he is looking to contribute this season.” Citizen expects to return at some point during the 2023 Miami football season but he doesn’t know when.

The Miami Herald had extensive coverage of media day with Barry Jackson, Susan Miller-Degnan and David Wilson all providing coverage. Among the topics covered were injury updates, the freshmen class with the confidence to change the direction for Miami and comments from defensive coordinator Lance Guidry.

Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U covered the flip of Francavilla from Harvard to Miami. Francavilla was highly coveted by Miami and is the third offensive line commit after three-star prospects Juan Minaya and Deryc Plazz. The 2024 Miami recruiting class is currently 16th in the 247 Sports Composite rankings.

Christopher Stock of Inside the U wrote that guard “Christian Watson (is) looking forward to showcasing abilities in France.” Watson has been used sparingly during his first two seasons with Miami. The France trip will provide Watson with a chance to assert himself as part of the 2023-24 rotation.
