Miami opens the 2023 season versus Miami (Ohio) on September 1.
The first game the Miami football team played versus any opponents on its 2023 schedule was a 34-0 loss to Temple on November 8, 1930. Miami plays at Temple on September 23. Wake Forest defeated Miami 13-6 on December 22, 1928, in the first game for the Hurricanes versus a current ACC team.
Miami defeated Louisville 33-7 on November 10, 1933, in the first game for the Hurricanes versus an ACC opponent on the 2023 schedule. The Hurricanes will play four of their top eight most frequent opponents in program history during the 2023 season. Miami has played nine 2023 opponents at least 10 times.
Clemson and North Carolina are the only 2023 opponents Miami has a losing record against. Bethune-Cookman and Miami (Ohio) are the only opponents on the 2023 Miami schedule who have never defeated the Hurricanes. Miami and Temple were previously rivals in the Big East from 1993 through 2003.
In addition to Miami (Ohio) and Temple, Miami will host Texas A&M on September 9 and Bethune-Cookman on September 14 in their other two 2023 non-conference games. Miami is off the weekend of September 30 before beginning ACC play on October 7 versus Georgia Tech at Hard Rock Stadium.
