The Miami Hurricanes football team was named in the top five for four-star defensive lineman T.J. Lindsay ahead of his August 12 commitment date. Alabama, Auburn, Texas and Texas A&M are the other programs in Lindsay’s top five. David Lake of Inside the U wrote about “Five takeaways from the first week of fall camp.”

Auburn has an 84.3 percent chance for a commitment from Lindsay according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. There are two 247 Sports crystal balls projecting Lindsay to Auburn and one to Texas A&M. The most recent crystal ball from 247 Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong is to Auburn.

The five takeaways from Lake were that Miami will have an aggressive approach on defense, the offense has more offensive skill position options, cornerback has been revamped since the spring, freshmen are adjusting well to college and the body types on the 2023 Miami Hurricanes football roster are bigger.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported on Monday that the Miami-Notre Dame game scheduled for 2024 has been pushed back to 2025. Miami has a scheduling conflict with five non-conference games scheduled for 2024. Miami will host Notre Dame in 2025 and play in South Bend in 2026.

Adam Gorney of Rivals.Com wrote about the “Recruiting Rumor Mill (with): Preseason camps right around the corner.” Gorney profiled several Miami recruiting targets in the 2024 and 2025 classes. The 19-member 2024 Miami class currently ranks 17th in the Rivals.Com rankings.

Jackson wrote an extensive column on the expectation that freshman defensive line Rueben Bain is projected to play a lot of snaps this season and he profiled several position battles for Miami entering the 2023 season. Among the comments was that wide receiver Frank Ladson is leaner than last season.
