The Miami Hurricanes football team held its scrimmage on Saturday and received good news later in the day with a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Elias Rudolph. The outlets that cover the Miami football program had several different angles covered following the scrimmage.

Rudolph is the 20th 2024 Miami Hurricanes football commit. The 247 Sports composite rankings list Rudolph as the 292nd prospect, 21st edge rusher and 40th player in Florida in the 2024 class. Rudolph was at Deerfield Beach for a semester but expected to return home to Cincinnati for his senior season.

Inside the U provided extensive summaries with a list of the offensive and defensive statistics and a look at how players performed on both sides of the ball during the scrimmage. Running back Ajay Allen stood out on offense with 100 yards from scrimmage and four plays of 10 yards or more.

Susan Miller Degnan and David Wilson of the Miami Herald wrote that “Miami QB Van Dyke back in fine form at Hard Rock scrimmage. RBs, WRs, newcomers shine” After a season of inconsistency offensively, the Miami offense is expected to be more explosive this season under new coordinator Shannon Dawson.

Mario Cristobal spoke to Miami radio analyst Don Bailey Jr. post scrimmage on the official YouTube channel Canes All Access. Cristobal stated that the Miami swag is playing hard on every snap. Cristobal mentioned twice that Miami is bigger now. The fans were also praised by Cristobal and Bailey Jr.

Alex Donno of All Hurricanes and the Locked on Canes Podcast asked post scrimmage “CanesFest Recap: Who Stood Out In The Miami Hurricanes Scrimmage.” Donno stated that “Miami’s defensive line made impactful plays while the running back rotation also found ways to shine.”
