Miami Hurricanes News: Recruiting updates, Kinchens honor

The Miami Hurricanes football team could have a big month in recruiting. Blue chip defensive linemen Kamarion Franklin and David Stone are announcing their college destinations later this month. Five-star safety Zaquan Patterson could announce his commitment in August. Kamren Kinchens picked up another preseason honor.

Franklin is announcing his commitment on Aug 19 at 8:00 PM. Franklin is the 46th prospect, eighth defensive lineman and eighth recruit in Mississippi in the 2024 class in the 247 Sports composite rankings. Auburn currently holds the sole 247 Sports crystal ball and has an 89.3 percent chance for a commitment from Franklin per On3.

Stone is making his commitment announcement on Aug 26 at 1:00 PM. Stone is the 10th prospect, third defensive lineman and the third player in Florida out of IMG Academy in Bradenton in the 2024 Class. There are four crystal balls logged for Stone to Oklahoma and two projecting him to Michigan State.

Patterson told Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U that he does not have a set commitment date but that it should be near August 22. Patterson is the 77th prospect, third safety and 10th player in Florida in the 2024 class. No crystal balls have been logged for Patterson and On3 projects Miami with a 91.3 percent chance.

Kamren Kinchens picked up his most recent honor by being named to the 2023 CBS Sports Preseason All-America teamKinchens is one of five players that were named a preseason All-American by CBS Sports that was also on its 2022 postseason team. Kinchens was also named preseason All-American by The Athletic and ESPN.
