Miami Hurricanes News: Texas AM preparation, Canes lead for PG
After their 38-3 season-opening win over Miami (Ohio) on Friday night, the Miami Hurricanes football team is getting ready to host Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon. Head coach Mario Cristobal, defensive coordinator Lance Guidry and offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson met the media on Monday.
Inside the U summarized the comments from Cristobal, Dawson and Guidry discussing the planning for Texas A&M. Guidry said the potential of the Texas A&M offense has his full attention. David Lake of Inside the U wrote that Texas A&M is the most talented team the Miami Hurricanes will play this season.

Alex Donno posted for All Hurricanes that Dawson is likely planning on redshirting backup quarterbacks Jacurri Brown and Emory Williams this season. Players can participate in four games each season and maintain a redshirt.
Adam Gorney of Rivals named Miami as one of “Five programs that won August” in recruiting. Miami received commitments from 2024 four-star prospects, safety Zaquan Patterson and edge rusher Elias Rudolph plus three-star offensive line, Kavion Broussard who Gorney said has a “ton of potential.”
Former five-star Monsignor Pace edge rusher Shemar Stewart said he was shunned when he signed with Texas A&M over Miami according to Saturday Down South. Stewart said he has friends on the team, but no more when they play Miami on Saturday. That should give a rebuilt Miami offensive line motivation.

The Miami Hurricanes basketball team is projected with an 87 percent chance for a commitment from Swartz per On3. There are two crystal balls from 247 Sports that also project Swartz to commit to Miami.
