The Miami football team will host Texas A&M on Saturday. Texas A&M travels to Hard Rock Stadium with a six-game road losing streak. Texas A&M lost at Auburn, South Carolina, Mississippi and Florida last season and at LSU and Mississippi and in 2021 during their six-game losing streak.

Texas A&M’s last road win was 35-14 at Missouri on October 16, 2021. Texas A&M has lost by an average margin of 27.17-20.17 during the losing streak. Miami ended its own five-game home losing streak with the 38-3 win over Miami (Ohio) to begin the 2023 season. Texas A&M beat New Mexico 52-10 in its 2022 season opener.

The Texas A&M road losing streak began with a 29-19 defeat at Mississippi in the Aggies’ penultimate SEC game in 2021. LSU defeated Texas A&M 27-24 in Death Valley to end the 2021 season. Texas A&M lost 42-24 at Mississippi State in the first road game of 2022 after three straight at home and a neutral site game.

The loss at Mississippi State was the first of three straight road games for Texas A&M in 2022. Texas A&M lost 24-20 at Alabama a week after the loss at Mississippi State. Following a bye week, Texas A&M lost 30-24 at South Carolina. Texas A&M lost 13-10 in its last road game of the 2022 season.

Four of the six losses during the road losing streak, including the last three have been one-score games. That could be viewed as an aberration and Texas A&M will eventually win a road game. The other possibility is that if the game is close versus the Miami football team on Saturday, Texas A&M could get tight late.

Miami had three field goals and a loss of downs in four red zone trips at Texas A&M in 2022. Texas A&M converted 84.21 percent of its red zone trips on the road in 2022. The Aggies had only 10 touchdowns in 19 red zone trips on the road last season. Miami will have the crowd behind them this season.

With a capacity of 102,733, Kyle Field is the fourth-largest stadium in college football. The Aggies don’t have that support on the road. While the games have recently been close during their six-game losing streak, Texas A&M clearly didn’t make the needed plays on the road when it counted most.

This is the biggest non-conference home game for Miami since the 41-8 win over Notre Dame in 2017. Night games are different at Hard Rock Stadium. Although Saturday is a day game, the Miami crowd should be loud. Creating a home-field advantage could weigh on Texas A&M late in the game.
