ESPN lead college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit named the Miami Hurricanes second among his top seven performing teams this weekend and Mario Cristobal as the second best coach following the 48-33 win over Texas A&M. Four Miami players were honored as the ACC Player of the Week at their positions.

The Miami Hurricanes finished second behind Texas who won 34-24 at Alabama among the top performing teams of week two named by Herbstreit. Cristobal was named the second-best-performing coach of week two behind Steve Sarkisian of Texas. The win over Texas A&M is the biggest of the Cristobal era.

Tyler Van Dyke was named the ACC Quarterback of the Week, Jaden Davis the ACC Defensive Back of the Week, Anez Cooper ACC Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week and Jacolby George ACC Receiver of the Week as announced on Monday for their performances in the win over Texas A&M.

Van Dyke threw for 374 yards and a career-high five touchdown passes in the win over Texas A&M. George had five receptions for a career-high 94 yards and a Miami program record three touchdown receptions. Davis had eight tackles, two tackles for loss and one forced fumble. Cooper started for Miami at right guard.

Cristobal, offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and defense coordinator Lance Guidry all spoke to the media reviewing the win over Texas A&M and looking ahead to the game on Thursday night versus Bethune-Cookman. Dawson discussed Shannon Dawson on Tyler Van Dyke, Red Zone TDs and beating Texas A&M.

Guidry spoke about the performance from the Miami Corners CBS, the pressure Miami had on Texas A&M QB Conner Weigman and the win over the Aggies. Unspecified Miami players will speak to the media on Tuesday as the Hurricanes have an extremely short week ahead of playing the Wildcats on Thursday night.
