The Miami football team hosts Bethune-Cookman in week three. Bethune-Cookman travels South with a 1-1 record. Miami improved to 2-0 following its 48-33 win over Texas A&M on Saturday. Bethune-Cookman defeated Savannah State 31-6 on Saturday after losing 56-14 at Memphis in its season opener.

Miami has to avoid a letdown after the big win on Saturday. The Hurricanes lead the all-time series with the Wildcats 6-0. All of the Miami football games versus Bethune-Cookman have occurred since 2011. Miami defeated Bethune-Cookman 70-13 in Mario Cristobal’s Hurricanes’ debut in 2022.

Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, wide receiver Jacolby George, offensive lineman Anez Cooper and defensive back Jaden Davis all earned ACC Players of the Week awards following their performances versus Texas A&M. Cooper, George and Van Dyke have significantly improved since last season.

Davis transferred to Miami from Oklahoma during the 2023 offseason. Expect reserves to receive significant playing time on Thursday. Jacurri Brown could receive the majority of playing time at QB. True freshman Emory Williams played in the season opener. Williams can play three more games and maintain his redshirt.

Miami will have nine days off before playing at Temple on September 23. After Temple, Miami has a bye week before hosting Georgia Tech on October 14. The schedule sets up for Miami to start the season 5-0. Miami should be a significant favorite versus Temple and Georgia Tech.
