The Miami football team moved to 20th from 22nd in the Associated Press Top 25 and two spots to 21st in the USA Today Coaches Poll released on Sunday. Miami is in the top 25 for the second straight week after making its season debut at 22 in the AP Poll last week. Miami was 23rd in the USA Today Coaches Poll last week.
Miami has 298 points in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Hurricanes are the fourth-highest-ranked team in the ACC. Florida State remains third nationally with 1,396 points after a 31-29 win at Boston College on Saturday. North Carolina moved up one spot to 17th with 592 points after a 31-13 win over Minnesota.
Duke is third in the USA Today Poll among ACC teams as the 18th-ranked team nationally. The Blue Devils moved up two spots following a 38-14 win over Northwestern. Duke has its highest ranking since they were 16th in the 1994, week 10 AP poll. Clemson is the only other ACC team in the top 25.
The Tigers fell one spot to 23rd following a 48-14 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday. Clemson has 193 points. Syracuse is 36th in the rankings with 10 points. Louisville and Wake Forest are tied for 43rd in the USA Today Coaches poll with two points. The Miami football team is projected to play four ranked teams in 2023.
Miami will play at North Carolina on October 14, host Clemson on September 21, is at Florida State on November 11 and Louisville comes to Hard Rock Stadium on November 18. Miami would only play Duke or Wake Forest if either advance to the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte.
Miami received 359 points in the Associated Press Top 25. Florida State dropped one spot to fourth with 1, 378 points in the AP Top 25. The Seminoles remain the highest-ranked ACC team in the AP Top 25. North Carolina is 17th with 567 points and Duke is 18th with 530 in the AP Poll.
Clemson is 26th in the AP Poll with 76 points, Syracuse is tied for 36th in the AP Poll with two points and Louisville is 38th with one point. The ACC has been excellent early in the season. In non-conference play, the ACC has winning records versus the Big 10 and the SEC during the first three weeks of 2023.
