Miami at Temple: Key Players to Watch

Temple quarterback E.J. Warner, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt, is completing 52.5 percent of his passes for 760 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Warner gets the ball out quickly. Dante Wright leads Temple with 16 receptions for 185 yards and one touchdown.

Miami wide receivers Jacolby George, Isaiah Horton, Xavier Restrepo and Colbie Young should be able to get behind the Temple defense. Expect Miami to set up the pass with running backs Ajay Allen, Don Chaney and Henry Parrish on the ground. Temple is suspect versus the run and their pass defense has allowed long completions.

What to watch for Miami at Temple

Weather is expected to have a huge influence on Saturday afternoon in Philadephia. The Weather Channel is projecting up to a half inch of rain. Defense and the running game will be critical. Miami is 39th nationally averaging 189.00 rushing yards per game. Temple is 89th averaging 139.67 rushing yards per game.

Miami has been exceptional allowing 60.33 rushing yards per game which ranks eighth nationally. The Hurricanes are 10th allowing 2.15 yards per carry. Temple is 96th allowing 152.67 rushing yards per game and 73rd allowing 3.85 YPC. Miami should have success running against Temple.

Miami at Temple Prediction and Pick

Miami could be slowed offensively on Saturday by the weather more than the Temple defense. The projection of the success completing long passes will be hampered in a rain storm. If the rain occurs as expected, Miami should win easily, but covering the 23.5 on the road could be difficult. Take Temple and the under.
