The Miami football team plays its last non-conference game of the 2023 season at Temple on Saturday. Miami has been impressive winning its first three games. Temple is 2-1 with wins over Akron and FCS Norfolk State and a loss to Rutgers in the first three weeks. Miami has wins over Miami (Ohio), Texas A&M and Bethune-Cookman.

The game could be a low-scoring game predicated on running the ball offensively. Rainfall of up to a half inch is forecast for Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon. Temple has struggled to run and stop the run this season. Temple ran for 129 yards on 52 carries in its two games versus FBS opponents this season.

The Owls allowed Rutgers to run 52 times for 254 yards and three touchdowns in a 36-7 loss two weeks ago. Miami is 37th nationally averaging 189.00 rushing yards per game and 13th in the country averaging 5.91 yards per carry. Expect Miami to prioritize the run on Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.

There has been no update if Miami is expected to have true freshman running back Mark Fletcher back on Saturday. Ajay Allen, Don Chaney Jr. and Henry Parrish will be able to share the carries with Fletcher out. Allen and Parrish lead Miami with 26 carries this season, Chaney has 18 and Fletcher has 13.
