Miami football resume top 10 nationally per CFB analyst
After wins over Miami (Ohio), Texas A&M, Bethune-Cookman and Temple, the Miami football team has the ninth-best resume nationally per Andy Stapes of On3. The ESPN Football Power Index also has Miami ninth in their resume rankings. Miami has started 4-0 for the first time since 2017 as projected by the FPI.
The Miami football team has the 87th toughest 2023 schedule per the FPI. Miami has the 45th toughest remaining schedule. After hosting Georgia Tech on October 7, Miami begins a gauntlet over the last seven games. Three of the last seven games project as the marque contents on the Miami schedule.
At North Carolina on October 14, October 21 versus Clemson and at Florida State on November 21 are the remaining games on the Miami football schedule that will generate the most interest. Miami is sixth in average win-game probability and ninth in-game control rank in the projected FPI metrics.
The FPI projects Miami as the favorite in every remaining game this season with the exception of at Florida State. The Seminoles have a 64.7 percent chance to defeat Miami per the FPI. Florida State has the second-best resume nationally. Florida State beat LSU, Southern Miss, Boston College and Clemson. Duke has the 11th-best resume after four weeks per the FPI. Miami does not play Duke in the regular season. Louisville has the 16th-best resume as the next highest-ranked team among Miami opponents.
