Miami football 2023 opponents week 5 viewing guide
With the Miami football team on its bye week, this is the perfect time to scout the eight ACC opponents for the Hurricanes which begins on October 7 versus Georgia Tech. There are only six ACC games for week five. Six of the eight Miami ACC opponents will play in week five beginning on Friday night.
The Miami football team will host Louisville on November 18 and play at North Carolina State on November 4. Louisville plays at North Carolina State on Friday night with a 7:00 PM kickoff on ESPN. Louisville is one of six undefeated teams in the ACC. North Carolina State is 3-1 with their only loss to Notre Dame.
The game is a battle of transfer quarterbacks. Louisville QB Jack Plummer transferred from California. North Carolina State QB Brennan Armstong transferred from Virginia where he played under current Wolfpack offensive coordinator Robert Annae. The ESPN Football Power Index projects Louisville with a 67.7 percent chance to win.
The 2-2 start overall and 0-2 in the ACC by Clemson has been surprising, if not shocking. Clemson was unable to take advantage of opportunities late to defeat Florida State last week. Syracuse is 4-0. The FPI projects Syracuse with a 55.0 percent chance to win. Clemson at Syracuse has a noon kickoff on ABC.
Miami will host Virginia on October 28, a week after Clemson plays at Hard Rock Stadium. Virginia plays at Boston College with a 2 PM kickoff on The CW. Virginia is 0-4 and Boston College is 1-3 entering the game on Saturday. Boston College and Virginia are the two worst scoring defenses in the ACC and offenses are not much better.
The final game involving a 2023 Miami opponent is Bowling Green at Georgia Tech with a 3:30 kickoff on the ACC Network. Bowling Green should be tuneup for Georgia Tech before playing at Miami next weekend. Bowling Green is 1-3 and Georgia Tech is 2-2. Georgia Tech defeated Wake Forest 30-16 last weekend.
Number 11 Notre Dame at 17th ranked Duke is the marque game of the weekend in the ACC if not all of college football. ESPN College Gameday will be live from Durham on Saturday morning and the Fighting Irish and Blue Devils will be the Saturday night game on ABC with a 7:30 PM kickoff.
Pittsburgh at Virginia Tech is the ACC Network primetime game with an 8:00 PM kickoff. The Panthers and Hokies have been longtime Miami rivals, but are not on the 2023 schedule. Miami is not scheduled to play Duke this season either. Duke and Miami are teams to watch in the ACC Championship game race.
