Steve Wiltfong the 247 Sports Director of Football Recruiting logged a crystal ball and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects the Miami football program as the leader for four-star 2024 wide receiver Ny Carr. Miami has been the leader for Carr after he de-committed from Georgia last month.
Carr is the 53rd-ranked player nationally, the 11th WR and the ninth prospect in Georgia by the 247 Sports composite rankings out of Moultrie Colquitt County. The On3 RPM projects the Miami football program with a 90.9 percent chance of receiving a commitment from Carr. Georgia has the only official visit from Carr.
Carr visited Athens in June. Miami is scheduled to receive an unofficial visit with five-star Chaminade-Madonna WR Jeremiah Smith for the Hurricanes game on Saturday versus Georgia Tech. Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee are the other programs that have received unofficial visits from Carr.
Auburn hosted Carr last weekend and he visited Tennessee two weeks ago. None of the other programs received visits from Carr this year. “On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons logged an expert prediction in favor of the ‘Canes on Wednesday with a 60% confidence level.” Credit the new Miami offense with persuading Carr.
Carr has 142 receptions for 2,654 yards and 35 touchdowns over 32 games during his four-year high school career according to Max Preps. Carr is on pace for his best season this year by far with 37 receptions for 720 yards and 12 TDs in six games. Carr’s previous career highs are 62 receptions, 1,051 yards and 13 TDs.
Miami already has commitments from five-star prospect Joshisa Trader and four-star Chance Robinson at WR in the 2024 class. A trio of Carr, Robinson and Trader at WR would provide Miami with three elite playmakers in the future. Miami also has a commitment from four-star running back Kevin Riley.
