Miami Hurricanes News: Players media appearances, TVD versus Haynes King

Miami Hurricanes football is back to work after their bye week preparing for Georgia Tech on Saturday. Safeties Kamren Kinchens and James Williams, wide receiver Xavier Restrepo and quarterback Tyler Van Dyke spoke to the media on Tuesday. Inside the U compared Van Dyke and Georgia Tech QB Haynes King.

Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald highlighted the comments from Kinchens, Restrepo and Williams discussing the return of the Hurricanes’ All-American. Kinchens said he remembered everything that happened after being hurt and carried off the field versus Texas A&M in his first meeting with reporters since the injury.

Kinchens and Williams credited redshirt freshman Jaden Harris for his performance in the last two games. Restrepo and Williams said it’s good to have Kinchens back. Miami was able to build depth at safety with Kinchens out. Kinchens also discussed some Miami Hurricanes players handing out meals in Overtown on Saturday.

Christopher Stock of Inside the U wrote that the “ACC’s top-rated passer Tyler Van Dyke to square off against yards and TD leader Haynes King.” King is a Texas A&M transfer who has made a big impact on the Georgia Tech offense. King leads the second ranked passing offense in the ACC.

Alex Donno of All Hurricanes and the Locked On Canes Podcast wrote about Mario Cristobal discussing during his Monday press conference that the “Miami Hurricanes Have Six To Eight More Players Ready To Contribute, Who Might They Be?” Cristobal was referring to players who stepped up during the bye week.

Griffin McVeigh of On3 wrote about how “ESPN ranks the 22 undefeated teams left in college football ahead of Week 6.” Miami was ranked 11th nationally among the undefeated teams. Only Florida State who is ninth was ranked higher among ACC teams. Miami at North Carolina could meet as undefeated teams on October 14.
