The Miami football team will be tested by the Georgia Tech passing game on Saturday. Georgia Tech is second in the ACC averaging 300.0 passing yards per game. Miami is eighth in the ACC allowing 225.0 passing YPG. Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King is in the top five in the ACC in the major passing categories.

King is fifth in the ACC with a 64.5 completion percentage and 8.9 yards per attempt, third with a 164.35 passer rating, second averaging 296.0 YPG and first with 15 touchdown passes. The pass defense for the Miami football team has been better than its numbers. Teams have been forced to pass versus Miami this season.

Miami is second nationally allowing 48.00 rushing yards per game and 1.92 yards per carry. The Hurricanes lead the ACC in both categories. Miami trends much better with a deeper look into the numbers of their pass defense. The Hurricanes are fifth in the ACC allowing 6.6 yards per attempt and with a 114.34 passer rating against.

Georgia Tech has multiple threats at wide receiver for King to target. The Yellow Jackets have three WRs in the top 25 in the ACC in yards per game and four in the top 46. True freshman Eric Singleton Jr. is the Georgia Tech WR to watch. Singleton has 18 receptions for 335 yards and is second in the ACC with five TD catches.

Malik Rutherford, Dominick Blaylock and Christian Leary are all dangerous WRs that have the potential to create big plays for Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets are first in the ACC with 63 completions of 10 or more yards and four of 50 or more. Miami has improved significantly this season limiting long completions.

Getting Kamren Kinchens back after missing the last two games is significant for the Miami secondary. Louisville is the only 2023 Miami football opponent averaging more passing yards per game than Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets are 17th nationally in passing YPG and eighth in TD passes.

Next. Miami should shred Georgia Tech run defense. dark

King is the best QB Miami has faced to this point of the season. Saturday will be the first of three straight weeks Miami will play elite QBs. Miami is at North Carolina and potential future number one NFL Draft pick Drake Maye next week and hosts Clemson and former five-star QB signee Cade Klubnik in two weeks.
