Four-star wide receiver Ny Carr became the third blue-chip player at the position to commit to the Miami football program with his pledge on Sunday. Miami previously earned commitments from five-star WR Joshisa Trader and four-star Chance Robinson in the 2024 class. Miami now has the 11th-ranked 2024 class.
Carr is the 53rd prospect, 11th WR and ninth-ranked recruit in Georgia out of Moultrie Colquitt County. Miami began trending for Carr last week and earned a commitment following his visit with the Hurricanes this weekend. Carr was previously committed to Florida. Carr is the fifth-highest-rated 2024 Miami commit.
Trader, safety Zaquan Patterson, running back Kevin Riley and defensive lineman Artavius Jones are the only 2024 Miami commits ranked ahead of Carr. Miami earned the commitment from Carr primarily over Auburn and Georgia. Carr visited Auburn last weekend. Miami moved up to 11th from 17th with the Carr commitment.
Max Preps credits Carr with 142 receptions for 2,654 yards and 35 touchdowns over 32 games during his high school career per Max Preps. Carr is trending for his best season this year by far with 37 receptions for 720 yards and 12 TDs in six games. Carr’s previous career highs are 62 receptions, 1,051 yards and 13 TDs.
Miami is pushing for its second consecutive top-10 class. The Hurricanes signed the seventh-ranked 2023 Class in the 247 Sports composite rankings. Miami signed four-star WRs Ray-Ray Joseph and Robby Washington in the 2023 Class. Carr is listed at 5’11 and 170 pounds with the ability to play outside and in the slot.
Carr has demonstrated his versatile athleticism competing in basketball and track and field in high school. The addition of Carr to the other four blue-chip prospects in the last two Miami football classes has significantly upgraded the talent for Miami at WRs. The Early National Signing Period for the 2024 Class is December 20-22 2023.
