Following a shocking 23-20 loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday night the Miami football team completely fell out of the USA Today Coaches Poll and barely remained in the Associated Press Top 25. Miami was ranked 17th in both polls last week after their bye. Miami is now 26th in the USA Today Coaches Poll and 25th in the AP.

The Hurricanes plummeted nine spots receiving 74 points in the USA Today Coaches poll. Miami also received 74 points in the Associated Press media poll to fall to 25th in the media rankings. Missouri who is 5-1 with 78 points is 25th nationally. LSU defeated Missouri 49-39 in Columbia on Thursday.

Miami is the fifth-highest-rated ACC team in both polls. Florida State is ranked fourth nationally in both polls. North Carolina is 12th in both polls, Louisville is 14th in the AP Top 25 and 15th in the USA Today Coaches Poll and Duke is 17th in the AP and 18th in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

The Miami football team will have a chance to move up next week when it plays at North Carolina. Miami plays at Florida State on November 11 and hosts Louisville on November 18. Miami does not play Duke this season. Clemson and Texas A&M are the only other 2023 Miami opponents who received votes this week.

Clemson is 32nd in the AP Poll with 17 points and 31st in the USA Today Coaches Poll with 33 points. Texas A&M who Miami defeated 48-33 last month is 36th in the AP Poll with five points and 34th in the USA Today Poll with 22 points. The last seven weeks of the season Miami has a mostly difficult schedule.

In addition to Clemson, Florida State, Louisville and North Carolina, Miami hosts Virginia on October 28, plays at North Carolina State on November 4 and Boston College on November 24. Miami can put the Georgia Tech loss behind them with wins in the next two games. Clemson and UNC should create national interest.
