Websites that cover the Miami Hurricanes football team examined their win over Clemson on Saturday night more extensively in their coverage on Sunday. Miami was one of the biggest movers in the national rankings for week nine. A dominant performance from defensive lineman Rueben Bain earned national accolades.

David Lake of Inside the U wrote about the projections for the Miami Hurricanes football team in the remainder of the 2023 season by the ESPN Football Power Index and the grades from Pro Football Focus. Lake’s colleague Christopher Stock wrote about the Miami snap counts versus Clemson.

Chris Hummer of 247 Sports wrote, It was inevitable: Rueben Bain, Miami’s top-100 freshman, is the 247Sports True Freshman of the Week.” Lake added that “Rueben Bain has established himself as the best true freshman defensive lineman in the country.” Bain dominated Clemson on Saturday.

Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald stated “Incredibly, Miami (heroes galore) still in ACC title chase after 2-OT win vs. Clemson.” Miller Degnan highlighted Miami quarterback Emory Williams, Bain, linebacker Francisco Mauigoa and safety James Williams for their contributions to the Miami win.

Brian Smith of All Hurricanes examined “‘Why’ Miami Defeated Clemson!” Smith stated Miami won because of the poise Emory Williams had, the Miami run defense that held Clemson to 35 yards, the big plays Miami had in the fourth quarter and overtime, Bain and the Miami offensive line and coordinator Shannon Dawson.

Marcus Benjamin of Canes County wrote the “Five Takeaways from Miami’s 28-20 double (overtime) win over Clemson.” Benjamin wrote, “Emory Williams handled the moment like a pro, Miami won this game in the trenches, Miami wins turnover battle, Additions to roster proving vital and Questionable clock management before the end of regulation.”

The Miami Hurricanes Twitter page trolled Clemson after the win on Saturday night with a picture of Dabo Swinney running on the field and the Tigers’ L Flag in the background. Miami won its first game over Clemson since 2010 breaking a four-game losing streak in the series versus the Tigers.
