Miami Hurricanes players, linebackers Corey Flagg and Wesley Bissainthe and offensive linemen Matt Lee and Francis Mauigoa spoke to the media on Wednesday. Head coach Jim Larranaga and players Norchad Omier and Nijel Pack represented the Miami basketball program at ACC Tipoff on Wednesday.

Lee is one of the highest-graded centers in the country per Pro Football Focus. Mauigoa received his highest PFF grade of the season for his performance versus Clemson. Bissainthe is eighth on Miami with 17 tackles and has three tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery. Flagg had the game-winning TFL versus Clemson.

Jim Larranaga spoke at ACC Tipoff about how when he was hired at Miami the Hurricanes had excellent size. In more recent seasons, Larranaga discussed the switch to a motion offense often with five players out. The addition of Omier last season has allowed Miami to play Omier in the post and four players on the permit.

Among the questions that Omier answered were the Nicaraguan fan base in Miami, the evolution of the team this season, his status as a double-double machine and what will make a successful season for Miami. Pack, Wooga Poplar and Omier are the three returning starters for Miami entering the 2023-24 season.

Pack spoke about his comfort in his second year with the Miami Hurricanes basketball program, building chemistry last season as a transfer, the evolution of the Hurricanes’ bench entering this season and becoming a leader in 2023-24. Pack should receive votes for All-ACC which will be released on Thursday afternoon.
