The Miami football team will attempt to become bowl-eligible when they host Virginia on Saturday. After beginning the season 0-5, Virginia has won its last two games. Virginia defeated a top-10 team on the road when they upset North Carolina 31-27 last week. Miami is coming off its first win over Clemson since 2010.

Miami and Virginia are tied with 1-2 records in the ACC. The game against Virginia is the penultimate 2023 Miami home game. Miami is on the road at North Carolina State and Florida State to begin November. Miami hosts Louisville on November 18 and finishes the regular season at Boston College on November 24.

Miami has to make Virginia one-dimensional. Virginia has rushed for over 200 yards in each of its last two games. Virginia wide receiver Malik Washington leads the ACC in receptions and receiving yards. Miami WR Xavier Restrepo is second in the ACC in receptions behind Washington. Restrepo did not have a big impact last week.

Miami leads the all-time series versus Virginia 12-8. The Hurricanes are 7-3 versus the Cavaliers in South Florida. Miami has won six of the last eight games versus Virginia and seven of the last 10 games. Miami and Virginia first played in the 1996 Carquest Bowl that was played at Hard Rock Stadium.
