The biggest questions on the injury report for the Miami football team are will quarterback Tyler Van Dyke and running back Henry Parrish play versus Virginia. Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald reported on Thursday that Miami is “leaning heavily toward starting Van Dyke on Saturday, but he is not 100 percent”,

Per Miller Degnan, a decision on Van Dyke starting might not be made until gametime. That is what happened last week when Emory Williams started for Van Dyke. Parrish was listed as questionable by Covers.Com, but the most recent update was on Sunday. The Miami football team beat Clemson without Parrish.

Cristobal announced that Miami edge rusher Nyjalik Kelly is out for the season with an undisclosed injury. Kelly had eight tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass defended this season but has not played since the loss at North Carolina on October 14. With four 2023 game appearances, Kelly can redshirt.

Miami is also without edge rusher Akheem Mesidor. Mesidor is listed as having appeared in only three games this season by MiamiHurricanes.com. Mesidor recorded five tackles, one TFL and one sack in the first two weeks of the season. Miami has built depth with Kelly and Mesisor out led by true freshman Rueben Bain.

Miami RB Mark Fletcher could play on Saturday per various reports. It seems more likely that Fletcher will be out for at least one more week. Redshirt freshman RB Tre’Vonte Vitizen is getting close to making his Miami football debut per Mario Cristobal this week. Citizen has been out since August 2022 with a severe knee injury.
