With a career-high 153 yards on five receptions with two touchdowns, Jacolby George was named the ACC Receiver of the Week. George recorded his second 100-yard receiving game of his career and this season. With his performance on Saturday, George now leads the Miami football team with 707 receiving yards this season.

Jacolby George was by far the favorite receiver for Emory Williams making the first road start of his career on Saturday at Florida State. Williams completed eight passes in 23 attempts for 175 yards and two TDs. Tyler Van Dyke replaced Williams after he suffered a broken arm and was 2-7 for 29 yards, no TDs and one interception.

The previous career high for George was 125 yards on six receptions with one TD at North Carolina last month. The six receptions by George versus North Carolina tied his career high. George also had six catches as the Miami football team beat Miami (Ohio) in the season opener. This has been a breakout season for George.

In addition to leading the Miami football team with 707 receiving yards, George also tops the Hurricanes with seven touchdown receptions and is second to Xavier Restrepo with 46 catches. George now has five receptions in each of his last three games. Quietly George has emerged as one of the ACC’s best receivers.

"RECEIVER – Jacolby George, Miami, WR, Lauderhill, Fla.“George finished with a career-high 153 yards on five catches, including two touchdowns, in the road game at No. 4 Florida State. With quarterback Emory Williams making the first road start of his career, George proved to be his go-to weapon.George totaled 131 yards after the catch for the game, including a career-long 85-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter that put Miami in striking distance – one of his two touchdown catches on the day. The weekly award is the second of the season for the Florida native.”"

George is seventh in the ACC in receptions, third in receiving yards and second in TD receptions. Miami has a pair of difficult games versus good pass defenses in its last two regular season games. Louisville who Miami hosts on Saturday is sixth in the ACC in passing yards allowed per game and Boston College is third.

With teams keying on Restrepo, George became the go-to receiver for Williams. Williams suffered a compound fracture against FSU and is out for the remainder of the season. Restrepo has been Van Dyke’s favorite receiver. George has become a threat to score nearly every time he gets the ball this season.
