During his meeting with reporters on Tuesday Miami Hurricanes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke declined to discuss his future beyond the game Friday at Boston College. On Tuesday, Cornerback Ja’Dais Richard, defensive tackle Branson Deen, and running back Mark Fletcher also spoke to reporters.

Cristopher Stock of Inside the U wrote “Tyler Van Dyke non-committal for bowl game and to Miami in 2024.” Backup Jacurri Brown is the only other scholarship QB on the Miami Hurricanes roster with Emory Williams out for the season. Brown has not played at all this season. Miami could be in a QB quandary for its bowl game.

Richard has 13 tackles this season. Due to injuries in the secondary, Richard has received more playing time in the last two games with a combined seven tackles. At 6’1 and 195 pounds, Richard provides Miami with excellent length on the perimeter. There is no indication if Darryl Porter Jr. will return at CB on Friday.

Deen has added key depth on the Miami DL this season. In nine games Deen has 15 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks this season, In his sixth season of College Football, Deen is playing in his only season with the Miami Hurricanes after five years with Purdue. Deen faced his Purdue coach Jeff Brohm versus Louisville last week.

Fletcher had the best game of his true freshman season with 126 yards rushing on 17 carries and two receptions for 54 yards. The 126 rushing yards and 180 total yards are career highs for Fletcher. With 468 rushing yards, Fletcher is now tied for the Miami team lead with Henry Parrish. Don Chaney Jr. has 467 yards.

Miami received a commitment from 2026 athlete Jordan Campbell on Tuesday. Frank Tucker of Canes County gave the scouting report on Campbell who is already 6’2 and 200 pounds as a sophomore. Campbell has 60 TFLs and 34 sacks over multiple seasons as an edge rusher and has also played wide receiver.
